Phil White, visionary of the Kingdom Swim, announced a new corporate sponsor. "We are thrilled to announce that RDI Corporation has signed on as the Underwriting Sponsor of the Kingdom Swim. It is a partnership of a world-class company with a world-class swim.
RDI’s headquarters are in Cincinnati, Ohio.
RDI now has 10 centers throughout North America including its Newport, Vermont offices. RDI is a comprehensive business solutions provider that strategically and consistently achieves results for its clients. Its suite of services, which includes contact center support, IT management, market research, and digital marketing, offers fully customizable solutions to meet each client’s individual needs.
Founded in Cincinnati in 1978, RDI has grown steadily over the last four decades. Employing more than 2,500 expert problem solvers in 10 centers around North America, RDI empowers clients ranging from mid-sized businesses to Fortune 500 companies to overcome their biggest challenges and achieve their goals. It opened its Newport office in 2011, has grown to 115 employees, and is looking to steadily grow to 255 employees at its current location.
RDI is one of Newport’s success stories. Its commitment to support the community is strong, as evidenced by its underwriting sponsorship of Kingdom Swim and its support of other community activities.
Newport has been going through a tough time, these past few years. This is one of the quiet success stories, RDI has shown to be enlightened about the need and value of engaging with the community. Not only is their support financial. We are already talking about training a group of their employees as volunteer kayakers for Kingdom Swim and other swims and starting a running and lake swimming club for employees and their families.
Kingdom Swim is entering its tenth year. It is now recognized as one of the World's Top 100 Open Water Swims, attracting hundreds of swimmers, kayakers, friends, and family members each year to Newport. It is organized by Kingdom Games, which now hosts 25 days of running, biking, swimming and ice skating in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and the Eastern Townships of Quebec. Kingdom Swim has become the Flagship event for over a dozen other swims throughout the summer and winter. It is held in coordination with the City of Newport and the EastSide Restaurant in Newport. RDI’s support is critical to the success of Kingdom Swim.
We have an Assisted Division at Kingdom Swim. Craig Dietz is returning this year for another marathon attempt. We have another swimmer who swims with a snorkel looking down on a weighted rope hooked to a kayak ahead of him."
