Chris Morgan Headlines RACE-MANIA Summit & Expo

Chris Morgan is the Head Coach Crimson Aquatics, the race director of the 40th annual Gloucester Clean Harbor Swim and the Beverly Shark Swim, a board member of the World Open Water Swimming Association, and served as the head coach of the Switzerland Olympic Swim Team at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

He will highlight the swim seminars with his speech, Open Water Swimming: New Thoughts on Training, Preparation and Execution, at the RACE-MANIA Summit & Expo held at the Boston University Fitness & Recreation Center in Boston, Massachusetts on March 25th.

RACE-MANIA will also offer additional expert-led seminars including:

1. SwimSmooth Swim Clinic on Advanced Freestyle: Maximizing the Speed Equation by swimming and triathlon coach Peter Russo: A 3-hour Swim Smooth clinic that includes swimming, drills and video-taping in a pool with classroom-based instruction.

2. Overcoming Your Fear of Swimming by swimming and water safety expert Carolanne Caron: Learn how to recognize and address fears about pool or open water swimming and how to work past the fear to excel in the water in a 50-minute classroom-based workshop.

3. Advanced Freestyle: Maximizing the Speed Equation by Sue Sotir: A pool-based clinic is geared toward average- to above-average swimmers who are looking to get faster in the pool and in open water where their stroke is evaluated.

4. ROKA Wetsuit and Skinsuit Demonstrations to try on wetsuits and skinsuits.

5. SwimRun: Everything You Need to Know about the Newest Multisport Craze by Jay Peluso: Learn how SwimRun works, what it takes to compete, the necessary equipment, and how to choose the perfect partner.

An Almanac for Open Water Swimming

An almanac is essentially a body of knowledge which is so complete that it enables people in different fields to make predictions about the future of their respective industries.

This, for example, was the purpose of the traditional farmers almanacs. It enabled farmers to determine as accurately as possible which crops to plant for the greatest harvests in a given year.

But the farmers almanac was just one example among many.
There are, of course, many different kinds of almanacs.

In fact, there is even one for open water swimming...
