Cold Water Crossings With Patagonia Swim

Cristian Vergara and Julieta Nuñez have decades of experience under their swim caps as swimmers, coaches and event directors.

They are now combining and utilizing their collective experiences to offer a number of services at Patagonia Swim. The cold water/extreme swimming duo offers various services in Patagonia that includes solo swims in the following locations:

* 5-mile Beagle Channel (Canal Beagle in Spanish) via the Lynne Cox route from Port Navarino to Port Ushuaia between December 3rd-9th 2017
* 5 km Strait of Magellan crossing between November 24th-29th 2017
*2 km Cape Horn (Cabo de Hornos in Spanish) swim between November 9th-15th 2017

The pair organizes the required escort boat reservations, provides guidance, oversees safety, and offers all the necessary aspects of logistical and operational support.

Vergara and Nuñez have plenty of experiences to draw upon. Collectively, they have separately completed solo swims in the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim, the English Channel, Strait of Magellan, Beagle Channel, Lago Titicaca (Bolivia), winter swimming events in Finland, China, and the USA as well as swims from Alcatraz Island, across the Bosphorus (Turkey), in Argentina, Russia, and Chilean Antarctica, from Máncora to Vichayito in Peru, with the Bering Strait Relay, and served as co-founders of the Coney Island Brighton Beach Open Water Swimmers (New York), Viña del Mar, Concón club.

Nuñez speaks German, Spanish and English.

An Almanac for Open Water Swimming

An almanac is essentially a body of knowledge which is so complete that it enables people in different fields to make predictions about the future of their respective industries.

This, for example, was the purpose of the traditional farmers almanacs. It enabled farmers to determine as accurately as possible which crops to plant for the greatest harvests in a given year.

But the farmers almanac was just one example among many.
There are, of course, many different kinds of almanacs.
