From Lima To Lone Star, Gustavo Gutierrez Shines

The men of the University of Missouri, led by freshman Gustavo Gutierrez from Lima, Peru, dominated the College Swimming Coaches Association of America's National Collegiate Open Water Swimming Championships on in Kansas' Lone Star Lake.

Gutierrez was the only swimmer to break the one-hour mark with his teammates finishing 2nd and 5th as they easily won the team title with 8 points, well ahead of Carson-Newman (37) and George Washington (41).

The top three finishers from each team contribute to their team’s scores.

An Almanac for Open Water Swimming

An almanac is essentially a body of knowledge which is so complete that it enables people in different fields to make predictions about the future of their respective industries.

This, for example, was the purpose of the traditional farmers almanacs. It enabled farmers to determine as accurately as possible which crops to plant for the greatest harvests in a given year.

But the farmers almanac was just one example among many.
There are, of course, many different kinds of almanacs.
