Claire And Chris Heading To ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Utö

Courtesy of Claire Treliving, Surrey, England.

Claire Treliving of Surrey, England and Chris her husband are looking for partners for the ÖTILLÖ Swimrun Utö held in Sweden on May 27th-28th.

Claire will participate in the ÖTILLÖ sprint (10 km running + 4-5 km swimming) and Chris will compete in the full ÖTILLÖ event (42 km running + 6 km swimming). "We have secured places and accommodation for 8. We would be really interested if anyone is interested in joining us for this event. Our contact is clairemarie74@hotmail.com.

I am looking for a partner. The event is 10 km of running and 4 km of swimming, alternating several times. I'm hoping to complete the course in under 2 hours this year. My 5 km time is 27:28 mins and my 1500m swim time about 30 minutes. It is a great challenge and adventure. Utö is where the Swimrun movement started on an island in the southern part of the Stockholm archipelago."

At the edge of The Devil’s Triangle, tropical storms, sharks, venomous jellyfish, and one of the strongest ocean currents in the world, all prove to be life-threatening realities. 2014 Open Water Swimming Almanac

An Almanac for Open Water Swimming

An almanac is essentially a body of knowledge which is so complete that it enables people in different fields to make predictions about the future of their respective industries.

This, for example, was the purpose of the traditional farmers almanacs. It enabled farmers to determine as accurately as possible which crops to plant for the greatest harvests in a given year.

But the farmers almanac was just one example among many.
There are, of course, many different kinds of almanacs.

In fact, there is even one for open water swimming...
