2016 Scandinavian Winter Swimming Championships

Winter swimmers like Jaimie Monahan of the USA, John Lulu and Anna-Carin Nordin of Sweden, Mariia Yrjö-Koskinen of Finland, and Aleksandr Jakovlevs of Latvia travel the world to compete on the 5-part International Winter Swimming Association Winter Swimming World Cup circuit:

Stage 1: 7th Jelgavas Roni Cup on November 7th 2015 in Jelgava, Latvia
Stage 2: 4th Big Chill Swim on February 6-7th 2016 in Windermere, England
Stage 3: 5th Scandinavian Winter Swimming Championships on February 13-14th 2016 in Skellefteå, Sweden
Stage 4: 7th Pirita Open on February 27th 2016 in Tallinn, Estonia
Stage 5: 10th Winter Swimming World Championships on March 8-12th 2016 in Tyumen, Russia

Like the FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix circuit and other open water swimming circuits, swimmers can travel to different countries, experience different ambiances, and compete in completely different venues.

An Almanac for Open Water Swimming

An almanac is essentially a body of knowledge which is so complete that it enables people in different fields to make predictions about the future of their respective industries.

This, for example, was the purpose of the traditional farmers almanacs. It enabled farmers to determine as accurately as possible which crops to plant for the greatest harvests in a given year.

But the farmers almanac was just one example among many.
There are, of course, many different kinds of almanacs.

In fact, there is even one for open water swimming...
