2015 Japan International Open Water Swimming Series

The Japan International Open Water Swimming Association (JIOWSA) is an open water swimming governing body in Tokyo that offers local races, biathlons and swimming holidays.

JIOWSA was founded by Yutaka Shinozaki and has created a nationwide open water swimming series as well as offers open water swimming seminars, tours and conferences in Japan.

Its 2015 race schedule is as follows:

International Race #1 on May 24th: International Cocos Crossing in Guam

Aquathlon Series #1 on May 30th: Minami Atami Aquathlon in Shizuoka Prefecture

Short biathlon: 0.5 km swim + 5 km run, Long biathlon: 1.5 km swim + 10 km run, Open Water Swim: 1.5 km

Aquathlon Series #2 on June 6th: Osaka Sensan Aquathlon in Osaka

An Almanac for Open Water Swimming

An almanac is essentially a body of knowledge which is so complete that it enables people in different fields to make predictions about the future of their respective industries.

This, for example, was the purpose of the traditional farmers almanacs. It enabled farmers to determine as accurately as possible which crops to plant for the greatest harvests in a given year.

But the farmers almanac was just one example among many.
There are, of course, many different kinds of almanacs.

In fact, there is even one for open water swimming...
