The Hong Kong - San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival 2014 will collaborate with the Ocean Art Walk and many filmmakers around the world

"Join us again for the 3rd Annual Hong Kong - San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival," invites Doug Woodring of the host organization Ocean Recovery Alliance. "This year we will have a warm-up event on April 29th at iSquare in Tsim Sha Tsui, with the main events to be held from May 6th - 11th. We will showcase film's from San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival including the following films as well as hold the Ocean Art Walk:"

* Short animation: Ain't No Fish (USA/UK) – Winner of the Directors Award at the San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival
* Adventure film: Defeating Oceans Seven (Austria) – Winner of the Adventure Award at the San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival
* Short animation: Losing Nemo (Netherlands) – Winner of the Animation Award at the San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival
* Short documentary: The Sunnydale Kids (USA) – Winner of the Golden Gate Award at the San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival
* Short film: The Whale Story (USA) – Winner of the Short Film Award at the San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival

"Like when Stephen Redmond crawled up on the shores of northern Japan to finally complete his Oceans Seven, the Hong Kong - San Francisco International Ocean Film Festival is preparing something very special for the film watchers," says Steven Munatones. "Doug will organize an ocean swim and then have the swimmers exit the water right on the beach where the documentary film Defeating Oceans Seven will be shown. What an outstanding way to view and admire the accomplishments and drive of Stephen Redmond and get inspired for whatever you are facing in the water or on terra firma."

2014 Open Water Swimming Almanac

An Almanac for Open Water Swimming

An almanac is essentially a body of knowledge which is so complete that it enables people in different fields to make predictions about the future of their respective industries.

This, for example, was the purpose of the traditional farmers almanacs. It enabled farmers to determine as accurately as possible which crops to plant for the greatest harvests in a given year.

But the farmers almanac was just one example among many.
There are, of course, many different kinds of almanacs.

In fact, there is even one for open water swimming...
