Who Will Top Maratón Acuática Santa Fe - Coronda in 2014?

Over the course of the 40 editions of the 57 km (35-mile) Maratón Acuática Internacional Santa Fe - Coronda in Argentina, there have been 21 winners in the 57 km (35-mile) race in the Coronda River…and 17 times it has been won by a swimmer from Argentina.

From Carlos Larriera (1961, 1962) to Horacio Iglesias (1965, 1967, 1970), Claudio Plit (1974, 1975, 1976, 1977), Diego Degano (1988, 1990, 1992, 1993), Fernando Fleitas (1991), Gabriel Chaillou (1997, 2002), and Rafael Perez (2003), men from Argentina have been coming up big.

In 2014, will local Argentine heroes Damián Blaum or Guillermo Bértola join their countrymen on top of the Maratón Acuática Internacional Santa Fe - Coronda podium on February 2nd?

An Almanac for Open Water Swimming

An almanac is essentially a body of knowledge which is so complete that it enables people in different fields to make predictions about the future of their respective industries.

This, for example, was the purpose of the traditional farmers almanacs. It enabled farmers to determine as accurately as possible which crops to plant for the greatest harvests in a given year.

But the farmers almanac was just one example among many.
There are, of course, many different kinds of almanacs.
