Olympic Marathon Swims For Swimmers Of All Abilities
There are at least 106 formally organized marathon swims around the world with several dozens more in planning stages. By 2014, there is forecasted to be at least 200 formal marathon swims over 10 km for both amateurs and pros.
Henley Swim’s Bridge to Bridge Swim is a 14.1km swim that starts off at Henley Bridge on August 19th. Everyone swims together as one group down to Hambledon Lock, where they are then split into groups according to speed. Swimmers will exit the river 4 times in total, as they navigate the locks and weirs and take in 4 feed stops.
The Swim Across America Long Beach event that offers a replica of the Olympic marathon swim course in Marine Stadium (see above) in Southern California. A charity event for the Todd Cancer Institute, a number of Olympians are scheduled to show up and participate. It is also held in conjunction with the Global Open Water Swimming Conference.

An Almanac for Open Water SwimmingAn almanac is essentially a body of knowledge which is so complete that it enables people in different fields to make predictions about the future of their respective industries.
