Marcos Díaz circled the globe between May and September in a unique set of five swims. The pride of the Dominican Republic won over the hearts of many after five challenging swims on behalf of the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals. Through his charismatic personality, humanitarian vision and ability to move wizened politicians and wide-eyed children, he created bridges between people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds in his Swim Across the Continents project.

ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Marcos¡¡ His work has been absolutely amazing¡¡
I saw Marcos when he learned how to swim. He was 6 years old. He has been awarded the "man of the Year" in the Dominican Rep. before, but learning today that he´s won the Open water man of the year by a landslide, by a public of his peers is a very proud moment for me as Dominican and fellow former swimmer also trainned by the best: Augusto García. Felicidades Marcos! Sigue cosechando éxitos. Edwin Guerra
