Ramanuj Mukhopadhyay, Honorable General Secretary of the Bengal Amateur Swimming Association and the Vice President of the Swimming Federation Of India, announced that the annual 19K (11.8-mile) and 81K (50-mile) marathon swims in the River Bhagirathi will be held on September 5th. The longest annual marathon swimming competition in the world, the River Bhagirathi is a turbulent Himalayan river in India that is the source stream of the Ganges, the holy river of Hinduism.
