Water Flows In The Strait of Gibraltar

Richard Broer, founder of European Open Water Swimming and The Netherlands Open Water Swimming, explained water flows between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea, of interest to marathon swimmers who cross the Strait of Gibraltar.

"The water flows into the Mediterranean Sea (almost) permanently. That is, because the that sea evaporates faster than it is filled by the Nile River, Rhone River, Donau (Danube) River, etc. can fill it, explaining the high salinity of the Mediterranean Sea."
